Welcome to the ‘O&G@SGH Resource Website’ of the department of O&G of Sarawak General Hospital, located in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia.
Sarawak General Hospital is the largest and busiest hospital in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. It is the main tertiary and referral hospital in the state of Sarawak. This hospital has been in existence since 1870 and currently has over 900 inpatient beds. SGH also serves as a teaching hospital for UNIMAS medical school, various postgraduate and subspecialty training as well as various allied health courses.
The department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology is among the busiest clinical department in SGH. It accounts for 35% of all hospital admissions and registered about 13,000 deliveries annually. It currently offers various subspecialty services such as gynae-oncology, maternal fetal medicine and reproductive medicine. At present, it is also among the few O&G unit in the country that offers robotics assisted gynaecological surgery.
